How to get an ADHD assessment in Darwin right now
- Your regular GP — the usual first step. Depending on the rules in the Northern Territory, a trained GP may be able to assess you, or they can refer you to a psychiatrist.
- A private psychiatrist — you’ll usually need a GP referral to claim a Medicare rebate, and waits are often long.
- Public mental health services — available in some areas, usually for more complex needs.
