How to get an ADHD assessment in Hobart right now

  • Your regular GP — the usual first step. Depending on the rules in Tasmania, a trained GP may be able to assess you, or they can refer you to a psychiatrist.
  • A private psychiatrist — you’ll usually need a GP referral to claim a Medicare rebate, and waits are often long.
  • Public mental health services — available in some areas, usually for more complex needs.
